My name is Pecolia Helm, and I’m 62 years old. I’ve spent my life caring for others — raising my children, working hard, and doing my best to stay independent. I never thought I’d have to ask for help.
But now, I’ve been diagnosed with stage II breast cancer and am undergoing radiation treatment without insurance. I live on a fixed income and disability benefits that barely cover rent, and the medical bills are more than I can manage alone.
I’m hoping to raise $5,000 to continue my treatments and cover essential medical expenses. It’s not an easy thing to ask for, but cancer doesn’t care about pride or strength — it tests both every day.
I still have so much to live for, and I want to keep fighting.
Every donation, every share, every word of encouragement helps me hold on to hope.
Thank you for caring — and for giving me a chance to heal.
