Help Sara Overcome Cancer's Shadow and Rebuild Her Life

Donation protected

Hi, I'm Sara, and I've been through a nightmare no one should face. A few years ago, my life turned upside down when doctors told me I had Stage IIIB cancer. Suddenly, everything was about fear—endless doctor visits, pain that wouldn't quit, and wondering if I'd make it through another day.

I fought hard for almost four years: a big robotic surgery on my abdomen, tough rounds of chemo that left me exhausted, and radiation that burned from the inside out. Finally, the day came when my doctor said I'm in remission—the cancer isn't showing up anymore. But remission isn't the happy ending I imagined. It's just the start of dealing with what the disease left behind.

Every day now, I feel the damage. Blood clots from the cancer blocked my leg vein and even broke off to my lungs, collapsing part of one. Simple things like walking to the kitchen leave me gasping for air. My joints are wrecked—the cartilage is gone—so even getting out of bed hurts without physical and occupational therapy. And the mental side? It's crushing. Years of fighting for my life have left me needing therapy just to feel like myself again.

The bills have buried us. We've lost our home and one car to the costs, and we're clinging to the last car we have. It's a daily reminder of how close we've come to losing everything.

My husband is a disabled US Navy veteran, and he's always been my rock through the worst of it. But before cancer hit, I was his rock too—his caregiver, the one keeping our family going strong. Now, I ache to get that back, for both of us and the future we still dream about.

That's why I'm sharing my story and asking for your help. With your support, we hope to raise $10,000 to:

  • Pay off the hospital and therapy bills still hanging over us
  • Cover my ongoing physical, occupational, and mental health treatments
  • Save for a safe home where we can start over
  • Get me healthy enough to work again and support my family

Even a small donation means the world—it gets us closer to not just surviving, but really living without this constant weight.

I've poured everything into this fight, and I'm still here because of that grit. But right now, I need a hand to keep moving forward. If you can give to my LetsFund campaign, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If not, sharing this with someone who might help could change everything.

With so much gratitude,

Sara
