Support BIA’s Mid-Autumn Night — Bring “Reunion” to Berkeley
We are BIA. Our mission is to connect students, alumni, and staff across cultures so everyone in Berkeley can feel a sense of belonging.
This Mid-Autumn Festival (Moon Festival), we’re hosting an off-campus evening celebration—lanterns, mooncakes, and interactive games—so students far from home can still share a night of reunion. To secure venue needs and supplies in time, we aim to raise $500 by October 3.
Why This Matters
Belonging & care: Mid-Autumn is an anchor of memory and family. A warm, intentional gathering eases homesickness for students studying far from home.
How Your Gift Will Be Used (Goal: $500)
Mooncakes & tea — $220 (mini/vegan options; tea bags & hot water)
Lanterns & décor — $80 (reusable lanterns; photo spot)
Sound & equipment — $90 (mic, compact speaker, extension cords)
Performer/volunteer support — $30 (transport/props)
Print & signage — $20 (posters, wayfinding)
Contingency — $60 (rain covers, trash bags, napkins, etc.)
Subtotal: $500
What Different Donation Levels Do
$10 — Mooncakes + tea for 3–4 students
$25 — Funds a string of lanterns / photo corner setup
$50 — Covers mic/speaker rental for the night
$100 — Underwrites a full performance segment (space + props)
We’ll thank all donors on the campaign page and at the event. For org sponsors, we can add your name/logo on posters and during stage acknowledgments.
Our Commitment
We’ll publish a transparent budget and procurement updates before the event, and share a post-event recap (attendance, photos, and reconciled expenses). Reusable items go into BIA’s shared inventory for future intercultural programs—your impact lasts beyond one night.
