Healing from cancer and medical appointments for our daughter with Down syndrome

We are the Suprise family. My husband Steven in the summer of 2024 was complaining of a black spot in his vision. I took him to the urgent care where they couldn’t find anything and referred us to an ophthalmologist. The next day at the ophthalmologist he ran tests and didn’t find anything and gave no further instructions.

Steve started to get headaches and could still see the spot in his vision. Almost exactly a year later he was in nursing school when he sent a selfie and noticed his eye was cooked and bulging. It was then he typed into ChatGPT his symptoms where it told him it was a medical emergency.

In the ER his blood work all looked normal but they decided to do a CT and MRI where they found a mass above his eye.

He was then referred to another surgeon for removal feeling pretty confident that it was just a cyst.

On June 5th 2025 Steve went into surgery where the tumor had invaded the bone and was diagnosed with cancer and 2 weeks later it was confirmed to be adenoid cystic carcinoma.

Steve has undergone 5 rounds of chemo and 30 sessions of radiation. He continues to see doctors every few weeks and will have multiple more scans before the end of the year.

Steves cancer wont ever go into remission, which is why we have set up this fundraiser.

As well as cancer treatments we also have a daughter with Down syndrome that requires a lot of medical care.

We plan to use the funds towards our medical bills and any time we both have to take off of work.
