Hi, my name is Angelina, and I'm hoping to raise some money for my family and I. Even if I don't reach the goal, I'm happy to receive any kind of help.

This past year, I just turned 40 and had my first mammogram. I got it done due to my mom going through her pre- cancer in her breast and because it's standard at the age of 40. Well, to my surprise, I had invasive breast cancer in 3 seperate areas in my left breast along with the PALB2 gene. During this news, my job decided not to accommodate me for my appointments. I was a BCBA intern to become a behavioral therapist for autism children, and I was forced to resign from my position. I have a husband, a teenage daughter and a 5 year old son, who he has autism with a severe speech delay. Yes, he was my motivation to get into the field. We lost our apartment, we lost our car, and we lived in a hotel for almost 2 months with little money we had left. Family and friends have done their best to help us out as we are trying to get back onto our feet. However, I had to undergo a bilateral double masectomy with reconstruction, and it's going to be a journey to heal. But praise the Lord the cancer was caught just on time as it was a grade 2, (moderate) spread. The 3rd spot was not seen on imaging, only during the surgery it was caught, only 2 were seen on image. I can't work yet until I'm cleared from my oncologists, and I'm able to get both drains removed, which is usually standard of 6 weeks. During the surgery, my lymph nodes were removed as well for a biopsy to see if it is cancerous. If so, chemo or radiation will be discussed for treatment. I'll also have to take a horme blocker pill every day for the next 5 years.

My husband just started his new job and my 18 year old is looking for work as they will both be walking to work. My medical bills have started already and we have no car to get to my post appointments or to get my son to his therapy sessions during the week. The clinic he attends are doing their best to accommodate. If anyone can find it in their hearts to help us, even a few dollars, would be helpful as the medical bills are starting to hit my account. I know it's going to be way more than my asking goal but I'm working with insurance to see if they can help, and looking for other resources as well. Please pray for my daughter, as she will be getting tested when we can get her to, to see if she has the palb2 gene in her DNA as well. It's a 50/50 chance she has it and could get breast cancer in her life if she also carries the gene.
