Share the Dream of Tennis — From Rosie Shen 🎾

Hey everyone!

I’m Rosie Shen, a junior at a private high school in Connecticut and the captain of our school’s tennis team. Tennis has become such a huge part of my life—it’s taught me how to be tough, lead with heart, and open doors to opportunities I never even dreamed of before.

Over the past two years, something’s really hit me hard: so many young tennis players, especially from China, dream of coming to the U.S. to experience what tennis and college prep here are all about… but most of them don’t get the chance. Crazy high costs, long distances, and all sorts of barriers make those dreams feel almost impossible. I’ve talked to kids my age who are so passionate, but reality just feels so far away for them.

I want to change that.

My Dream for Summer 2026 🌟

I’m planning a week-long International Tennis Exchange Camp in the U.S. for summer 2026—and I want it to be completely free for every player who joins. Here’s the vibe:

1 - Inviting a few talented international teen players to the U.S.

2 - Training side-by-side with American players.

3 - Learning from amazing coaches, hitters, and college admissions advisors.

4 - Most importantly, giving kids a real taste of what tennis and student life in the U.S. are like.

This isn’t just a camp—it’s a bridge to show these kids that tennis can be a path to education and opportunity.

How You Can Help 🙌

To make this happen, I’m aiming to raise $10,000. Every dollar will go straight to:

1.Renting courts and training facilities.

2.Bringing in top-notch coaches, hitters, and guest speakers.

3.Covering college prep and cultural exchange activities.

4.Sponsoring 2–4 international players to join us, no cost to them.

Every dollar will make sure this camp is 100% free for the players.

Why This Means So Much to Me 💜

As team captain, I’ve learned what leadership really is—not just winning matches, but helping everyone grow and feel like they belong. Since coming to the U.S., my whole view of tennis has changed. It’s not just about points; it’s about community, opportunity, and hope.

This project is super personal to me. It’s my way of giving back and sharing the incredible chances I’ve been lucky enough to have. I want other kids to feel that same spark.
